Share Your Expertise: 5-Minute Skills Demonstrations
Presenters are the core element of all our events, bringing our community together through hands-on learning and practical wisdom! We’re inviting knowledgeable individuals, crafters, and makers to share quick, practical techniques through 5-Minute Skills Demonstrations. You can participate in two flexible ways: sign up for a scheduled Standalone Presentation in our main demonstration area, or host ongoing Booth Presentations directly at your vendor or exhibitor table to engage passing attendees.
Whether you're sharing traditional homesteading methods, modern emergency readiness, or practical everyday tools, these bite-sized demos make high-value skills approachable for everyone. Ideas for topics include traditional skills like primitive fire starting, cordage and knot tying, natural dyeing, hide tanning, or wild edibles foraging. For modern preparedness and practical adulting, you might demonstrate water purification methods, basic CPR and first aid techniques, solar battery charging, ham radio basics, or map reading and navigation. Survival and craft ideas are also hugely popular—such as shelter building basics, knife sharpening and safety, signal fire creation, food dehydration and smoking techniques, or simple snare construction.
