Hurricane Beryl once again made the record books by strengthening to a Category 5 hurricane with winds sustaining over 157 MPH.
What areas need to start prepping today?
Everywhere along the Gulf Coast. Even if you are not near a potential cone of impact, you will see higher than normal tides leading to some coastal flooding. Weakening of the storm is expected to happen as it crosses the Yucatan Peninsula and into the Gulf of Mexico. It is still too early to know with certainty where Beryl will make landfall. Most models are pointing towards Mexico.
With a few of them beginning to show impact along the Texas Coast somewhere between Brownsville and Corpus Christi.
